My steps don't show up
Steps to Beat reads your step count from Apple Health. Check that it's allowed: iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Steps to Beat → turn on Steps. Then reopen the app.
Today's number is different from the Health app
Health can take a few minutes to record your latest steps. If live step counting is on, the app adds an estimate while you walk, marked "live (est.)", and Health's official count replaces it as it catches up.
Benchmarks compare me with the wrong group
The app uses the date of birth and sex in your Health profile, if you allow it. You can also pick an age group and sex yourself on the Benchmarks tab, under "Comparing as".
Where does my data go?
Nowhere: it stays on your iPhone. See the privacy policy.
